The Southern West Virginia Exceptional Youth Emergency Shelter

142 Cherry Street, P.O. Box 361, Daniels, WV 25832

Our Exceptional Youth Emergency Shelter (EYES) provides respite care to youth with disabilities and their families. EYES accepts youth who are WV residents age 7–18, with an IQ below 70, for placement in emergency shelter care from the WVDHHR, law enforcement agencies, parents, legal guardians, or caregivers. The Cherry Hill Shelter became known as EYES (Exceptional Youth Emergency Shelter) in 2004 when the Office of Behavioral Health saw the need for a shelter for children with Intellectual Disability/Developmental Delay.
